Course Profile:

This programme is in association with We Are The Tonic a London-based film distribution and marketing company that helps film makers and film companies find their audiences and release films in the best way possible.

This programme is aimed at the creative team, it is a project based programme that is bespoke and custom designed to address the specific needs of the participants and their projects.

The aims of the programme are:

• To provide as realistic and practical an environment as possible for participants to learn and practise the key principles and processes of film distribution and apply to their own projects

• To empower participants with knowledge of the distribution options available to them, the latest developments in the landscape, and key contacts within the industry

• To provide participants with valuable skills, knowledge and experience to apply to future projects

Running from  April 2016 to June 2016, the programme will be launched with a 3 day module of panels and workshops at the beginning of March, discussing the distribution landscape now and in the future, and providing participants with tools and techniques to build and engage their audiences. The module will also explore marketing, publicity and film festival positioning.

Following the module, the participants will then embark on 3 months of tailored mentoring centred around their live projects. Mentoring sessions will be conducted on Skype, and mentors will come from the distribution and international sales sectors, allocated to the projects best suited to their experience.

The programme will be completed on the wrap up day in June where the participants will present their project case studies to each other and highlight the key learnings from the programme and implementation plan.
