Screen Training Ireland, in association with Galway Film Centre, are seeking participants for a talk on How to Create Innovative TV Series. Gub Neal (Creative Producer on THE FALL), will outline the key factors necessary for great TV Drama, as well as giving an insight into how TV Drama is produced in Europe. It will be a combination of how to cultivate and nurture the creative writing process as well as an insight into the new options for getting TV made. Effectively, it will look at the journey from script to screen for TV drama.
Topics covered will include:
• What broadcasters and the audience want/developing a hook to reel them in
• Funding models for TV
• Identifying ideas and their execution
• Managing the broadcasters’ needs, especially in co-production
One to One Meetings:
A limited number of one to one meetings with Gub Neal are available on Thursday afternoon, November 12th for those who apply in advance. This is open to writers, producers or writer/producer teams. Priority will be given to projects in development or with an expression of interest from a broadcaster. This course is aimed at writers and producers who wish to enhance their creative writing process, as well as gain an insight into how TV Drama is produced in Europe. Tutor, Gub Neal, will also conduct some one to one meetings with pre-selected writers, producers or writer/producer teams.
