In association with Film In Cork the aim of this workshop is to energise and empower writers to create ambitious and engaging projects that connect with audiences. The workshop uses creative writing techniques in order to energise participants while demonstrating ways that innovative work can be supported by genre, format and the conventions of the screenplay form.
While the theory behind the principles of theme, subtext and tension are introduced using examples, the nature and process of the workshop is that of an unfolding conversation.
This workshop is suitable for new writers preparing to embark on their first draft of a short or longform screenplay, and more experienced screenwriters ready to expand their technical abilities and creative processes.
Deadline for applications: 1pm Wednesday October 26th 2016.
