Venue: Dublin, TBC

Course Profile:

The Engine Room Pitch Workshop is a unique two day project development and pitching experience for documentary filmmakers and producers seeking Irish and international commissions and market intelligence. It is also an exceptional networking opportunity. Created by leading international pitch trainer Christina Burnett of Wide Eye Pictures, the format has been successful in the UK, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. The BBC Storyville/Sundance hit Knuckle, Tanya Doyle’ s multi-awarded The House and the TG4 commission A FIGHTING HEART were all developed through the ERPW.

“A perfectly focused workshop that helps even the most unorganised thinkers find clarity and direction with their ideas. It is essential learning for anyone who wants to find the heart of their proposal and the words to convince others to invest in it.”
Conor O’ Mahony, IFTA winner

“The most constructive two days training I’ ve ever spent -nobody who seriously wants to make documentaries should miss it.
Ciara Hyland, Forefront

“I can honestly say that doing Christina Burnett’ s workshop changed my career. As a result of participating on the course I got the opportunity to pitch to two commissioning editors and immediately after a commission for RTE for my directorial debut. I went on to be nominated for an IFTA and a Prix Europa.”
– Tanya Doyle, Marmalade Films.

Intense, friendly and focused, the Engine Room Pitch Workshop develops real projects and trailers, which are then presented to commissioners from RTE and TG4, for feedback. Delegates range from BAFTA and Emmy winners to first-timers and the structure enables delegates at any stage of their career to understand what makes a project succeed and to maximise their own opportunities in future.

“The Engine Room Pitch Workshop is a must-do for every filmmaker looking to pitch into the marketplace. Practical and inspiring, it makes you think about, and present, your film in the best possible way”. Sandra Whipham, former Commissioning Editor True Stories, Channel 4
