Course Profile:

As part of its Train the Trainer initiative to enhance the skills of educators and trainers working in further education, higher education and training, Screen Training Ireland is running a two-day course on Toon Boom Harmony for Educators.  The course will explore strategies for the teaching of Harmony software as it is utilised in the studio.  The course will explore Harmony in the context of studio pipelines and processes, and give a broad view of the software and strategies for engaging beginners in the tools.

The course will cover:

  • Setting up in Harmony in your Studio or College environment
  • Basics of artwork creation for both Rigging and Animation. This includes drawing tools and also best practice for certain styles.
  • Basic Animation Tools for Traditional, Cut-out and Toon booms “Tradigital” styles of animation. ( This does not include animation principals)
  • Basic compositing

 

Participant Profile:

This course is open to lecturers, trainers, programme managers and educators working in higher education, further education or training, and involved in training/teaching for animation, VFX, games, film and media.  This is an introductory course, but some basic familiarity with the software is an advantage. Basic computer knowledge is essential.
