Cutting Edge Marketing and Distribution Mentorship Programme “Find Your Audience” to build audiences for Irish Film.

Screen Training Ireland have partnered with UK based WE ARE THE TONIC, to deliver FIND YOUR AUDIENCE a cutting edge Marketing and Distribution Mentorship Programme aimed at building audiences for Irish Films.

Tonic provides distribution expertise, marketing services, direct distribution management and mentoring for domestic and international projects. The Tonic team is experienced in all aspects of theatrical, home entertainment & VOD distribution; marketing; international sales; TV; and exhibition.

Current projects include: managing the direct-distribution strategies for a number of independent films; bespoke mentoring programmes; film marketing training; and working with government-funded bodies to maximise marketing and distribution opportunities in the early stages of a film’s lifecycle.

The FIND YOUR AUDIENCE programme aims to provide as realistic and practical an environment as possible for participants to learn and practise the key principles and processes of film distribution and apply to their own projects. The programme aims to empower participants with knowledge of the distribution options available to them, the latest developments in the landscape, and key contacts within the industry. Participants will gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience to apply to future projects. The programme is aimed at the creative teams driving the projects.

The programme is for experienced Irish filmmakers or production companies with at least 1 or more features that have had distribution. The programme will cater for 5 projects (10 participants/teams) with a live project or several live projects. Projects can be of any genre, scale and stage of production, priority will be given to teams with projects that have development finance. Projects must have a clear audience and definable genre.

FIND YOUR AUDIENCE kicks off with a three day launch module in March which will cover distribution now and the future, distribution and international sales and building your audience. Some of these sessions will be open to the wider industry.

The three month mentorship programme takes place between March and June 2016 for selected participants/teams. Over three months mentors will guide the filmmakers through realising the distribution of their projects.
