Screen Training Ireland is delighted to announce the seven selected participants assigned a training placement on the RED ROCK TRAINING SCHEME 2017. The trainees will be mentored on the third season of the popular TV3 soap for a period of six weeks.
A partnership between Screen Training Ireland, Bord Scannan na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and TV3’s RED ROCK, the scheme provides on-the-job training for the participants in specific areas of TV production.
The scheme also offers continuing professional development for experienced production personnel by providing practical work-based learning and mentoring in areas such as art department, costume, assistant directing, props and post-production.
Sorcha Loughnane, Screen Training Ireland said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for up and coming talent in the film and TV industry to gain essential skills and experience on a dynamic and diverse production. We’re delighted to be collaborating with the BAI and TV3’s RED ROCK on the programme, and look forward to offering similar practical learning and mentoring initiatives on other productions in the future.”
The six-week placement begins today with Red Rock hosting an orientation day for the new trainees at the Red Rock production base. This is an opportunity for the trainees to hear all about Red Rock, how the production works, and to gain an overview of each department.
