Audrey O’Reilly

Audrey has been working as a writer/director with increasing success. Her co-written script Honor Bright won the Miramax Script Writing Award; she wrote the Short Cuts short In Loving Memory, winning awards including the Prix du Public at the Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival; wrote and directed the multi award winning Clare sa Speir one of the 2001 ‘Oscailt’ short film series, and included on the Irish Leaving Certificate syllabus; wrote a ‘Short Short’ - Chicken which was selected for official competition in Cannes, 2001. She has written for RTE’s Fair City and On Home Ground. She has adapted Kate Thompson’s award winning children’s novel The New Policeman for producer Hawk Koch and adapted Penny Vincenzi’s Windfall for Pivotal Pictures. Audrey is developing three feature scripts It Takes Three to Tango, Low Season and The Winter Truce which she will also direct. Audrey served 5 years as chairwoman of the ‘Irish Playwrights and Screenwriters Guild’; she was awarded a 3 month ‘Artist in Residence’ position in The Irish Cultural Residence Paris in 2009 and a place on the 2010 Stewart Parker New Playwrights workshop.
