Gabrielle Kelly is a screenwriter and producer with extensive global filmmaking expertise who also teaches and delivers in international labs and film programs. She is the recipient of two Fulbright Awards and is on the prestigious screenwriting faculty of the AFI American Film Institute Conservatory. Teaching experience includes screenwriting and producing classes at UCLA, USC, Chapman, VGIK, Russia, London’s PAL Labs and the first ever Middle East Sundance Screenwriting Lab. A former Board member of BAFTA, IFTA, Women In Film, and the Irish Film Festival LA she has also judged key international film festivals and worked on Festival strategies for numerous films. She is currently judging the LA Chinese Film Festival. Her book “Celluloid Ceiling; Women Film Directors Breaking Through” is used widely in media curriculum. Following a career in book publishing in New York, she worked with director Sidney Lumet and screenwriter/producer Jay Presson Allen (Daniel, Prince of the City, Deathtrap, The Verdict) and additional projects with Andy Warhol’s Factory. In Hollywood she was VP Development for veteran producer Robert Evans company at Paramount for several years, worked on projects for Eddie Murphy Productions and also worked as executive and producer with such companies as HBO, Fields Hellman, and Warner Bros. Her producing credits include indie co-production All the Queen’s Men (starring Eddie Izzard and Matt LeBlanc) for Strand Releasing, Stag (for Cineplex Odeon/HBO), the family feature film, D.A.R.Y.L. for Paramount/Columbia and her own screenplay All Ages Night. Projects in development from an array of source materials include Marvel comic Mort the Dead Teenager at Dreamworks and co-productions with Russia, Brazil, China and Canada.
