Gerry Hoban

Gerry Hoban is a director with more than 20 years of international experience with a range of work for broadcasters such as RTÉ, BBC & Channel 5. Intimate & engaging documentaries on Alzheimer’s Disease, Teenage Suicide and Mail Order Brides stand alongside a range of popular sports, arts & music documentaries. As well as directing, more recently, Gerry has acted as Story Editor on major series such as ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, ‘Ireland’s Greatest’, ‘Hostile Environment’, and ‘The Obesity Clinic’. In 2014, Gerry directed the acclaimed ‘A Parting Gift’, about the body donation programme in the Anatomy Department of Trinity College Dublin, the popular Channel 5 series ‘Secrets of Great British Castles’, and the equally well-received ‘Guess Who’s Dead’, in which Ardal O’Hanlon investigated the Irish fascination with death notices.
